Rain Sensor on 2016 Scout

Featured Replies

Hi,

Intermittent wipe function does not work. Garage say this is because the rain sensor isn't working and so the system doesn't think it's worth wiping the windscreen.

Sounds reasonable.

Price to fix = £345. Sounds unreasonable since the part would seem to cost around £70.

Any advice on:

a) does diagnosis sound sensible?

b) is changing the sensor in any way a DIY job? I've no idea how to start!!

c) how do I make sure I get the right part?

Thanks in advance!

Suppose it’s easy enough to check yourself, put wiper in auto position and pour some water on sensor.

Hello, so easy to change.  I had to reattach mine had it had come off the screen. Have a hunt via Google for the workshop manual and gives you a full description on how to take the cover off.  The tools is described can be exchanged for a knife or two

And do not buy the part from www.cars-equipment.com you will get bumped, depends on how the owner feels & I'm speaking from experience & dealings with this company (not whispers) good job I paid via Paypal so got back my dough.
