Im chancing the oil/oil filter change, got oil/filter and extraction pump, seems straightforward but i need also to change the fuel filter, again not difficult but i read it can throw up an error code (due to low fuel?)

 

is that always the case, does filling the filter holder lessen the risk?

 

if it does show an error what can i take it off with/will it go into limp,etc?

 

ive only a bluetooth adapter and Torque app

 

 

Ideally, when swapping the fuel filter you should prime the low pressure side to purge any air from the system.

 

It's not because of a fault code, it's to prevent damage to the high pressure fuel pump and other components due to running dry or air pockets...

 

Filling the filter holder with clean diesel will reduce the amount of air ingress and therefore lower the risks.
