SKODA Octavia 2013 (63 reg) 1.6 TDI DSG Oil Change

Featured Replies

Hello again!

I'm looking at potentially buying  the Octavia mentioned above and I know it has a sealed DSG and dry clutch but noticed on the service history the DSG oil has been changed at around 68k and 90k miles. Is this something that will adversely effect the car? I know Skoda says the oil doesn't need to be changed, but the seller was told by mechanics that there's no harm in doing so and it can be beneficial.

As long as all is well with the car and how it drives then no problem.

If the oil changes were done correctly and because the owner just wanted them then good.

But there was a Service Campaign '34H5' called in 2017 on some DQ200 DSG's from 2013-2015 to do a software update.

This was a preventative measure because there were some failures with leaks due to heat or pressure.

There were and still are garages / dealerships, telling owners that there DQ200 needs services / oil changes and others advising them to.

More of a money maker for them really.
