Octavia 1.9TDi 2002 Heater Fan.

 

My heater fan has stopped working. Any suggestions as to cause ,parts and costs to replace.

Not from that no; the heater arrangement varies with trim level.

Mine is a 1.9 TDI Elegance 2002.

In which case you don't have a "normal car heater", you have a Climatronic climate control system. I've never known the fan on this system pack in completely.

Thank you for your response. The fan speed increments ok. But definitely a lack of any audible indication of noise to show a working fan.

@hitbul Try pressing the "Demist" button on the Climatronic panel. You should see (on the display), hear, and feel with a hand over an open vent, the fan speed pick up.

I have, worn & stuck brushes, the second hand one that I eventually fitted after getting fed up of freeing mine off was not much better and would in time have failed so they certainly are not bullet-proof.

 

It has to be the simplest of jobs (in the history of making cars hard to work on) to remove & work on and the OP may even find that its a leaf or part of the pollen filter that is blocking the rotation.
