Digital Traffic Info

Featured Replies

I see Garmin Digital Traffic will cease at the end of June, a service supplied by (or so I believe) INRIX via Classic FM.

I was wondering which service Skoda used and if there would be an impact on my 2016 Octavia Amundsen MIB2.

Cheers, John.

Afaik, if you don't have Skoda Connect services then the nav will just grab TMC messages which I would have thought is input from multiple sources. I would have thought the Highways Agency is a major inputter of data, directly into the INRIX managed system.

Skoda Maps are from Here Technologies a consortium of big car makers. Skoda connect is a subscription based service, so its up to them to get that traffic info to you and meet their obligations.

But then I might just be talking rubbish

I think the issue is the medium over which the digital traffic info is transmitted. As it's commercial, Classic FM/DAB is currently used, not the BBC.

Does the Amundsen DIB2 use this channel?
