High revs, white smoke and engine shakes

Featured Replies

hello everyone

Ive had a problem with my car to the point now ive come on here to see if anyone had the same problem, it started with random high revs and white smoke i just thought it was just dpf regeneration but 1 day was driving i went to put my foot down to overtake then it high revs with alot of white smoke to then the point the car/engine is shaking bad, really not sounding nice and has been ever since. Anyone had this or knows what it could be please let me know. Thanks

Sounds like the turbo bearing is failing and engine oil used to lubricate the turbo is being drawn into the turbo inlet resulting in diesel engine runaway. Often dramatic and usually terminal unless you manage to quickly stall the engine which can be near impossible or the oil in the sump runs dry by which time the engine is toast.

Yeah someone told me but mines auto so couldnt stall it, i turned itnon today and it was quiet then it was so gave it a run and power was there bit just smoking for abit then stop then drove home and the car went back to its shaking again.

Could be a faulty injector

I hope so, ran vag com and all that came up was glow pug in cylinder 3? Maybe something to do with the injector?

I don't always agree with xman, but that does sound a lot like "dieseling". If it's using oil, then turbo or inlet valve seals; if it's not then a bad injector.
