It's mates car at work. 09 Audi A3 2.0TDi (iirc) SLine.

 

His fob was working properly including operating the windows etc.

Seems it suddenly stopped working (he does carry lots of keys in his pocket) .............. he has replaced the battery but it still doesn't work. 

 

What is confusing is that it doesn't do anything if the key is placed in the door lock to operate it.

He does have an auto electrician friend that has convinced him it just needs syncing whereas I thought it may be a (or The) convenience control module.

I think his friend is to look at it next week.

 

Any thoughts.

I'd try resyncing first, as being way cheaper.

Yes, we've obviously tried to sync it ourselves using online recommendations.
