Remapping the 2.0tdi 150 Evo engine

Featured Replies

As per the title......has anyone got first hand experience of reults from remapping this engine ??

Would it be a match for a standard 2.0tdi 190 ??

I've had the 150 TDI in my 2016 manual Yeti remapped to 180 / 185 bhp by Angel Tuning .   It's not as quick as my wife's Karoq 190 TDI which is, as yet, bog standard.

Of course, the headline power figure isn't really the point in a road going car.  The area under the torque curve is more important.

However, it might be possible to get a bit more from a 150.  I remember that Darkside Developments had an Audi A4 150 TDI that made 190 from just a simple remap.

Thanks for the reply. The 150 engine was upgraded around 2020 to an Evo version with stronger torque, As you point out, I'm not bothered by the headline power figure, It's the torque I'm more interested in.

I am waiting delivery of my 2020 150 bhp sportsline plus and will be remapping it to the economy map and also the dsg gearbox map too , I have the autotuner remap slave system and as soon as I can read the ecu files and send them to my master I will let you know the outcome , like you more interested in torque and economy more than pushing power

Just remapped my Superb 2.0 litre Evo 150 bhp engine with a Stage 1/Economy  map , had to bench flash it but what a difference in power and economy now , considering it was relatively quick and fuel efficient to start with

I see you're in Glasgow, who did you use and what did it cost ?

I'ld like to get mine done too, as well as code in a new sensor (ACC cruise control) , and also modify the boot lid opening so it can be opened using the boot lid switch, not just the key fob

Hello there, was that Angel in Edinburgh ? How much did they charge ?

Hi there did the remap myself with a mapping machine called autotuner had to take the ecu out of the car and bench flash it , what year is your skoda ?

I'm down for the September weekend at York , towed my caravan at 60mph all the way down with a average of 47mpg

No they're based in Kilmarnock.  It's a mobile service.  Lovely guy called Paul Winston.  I had him remap my old Mk5 Golf GT Sport 170 TDI several years ago and my current Yeti about 15 months ago.  I also recommended him to a friend who had him remap his Mk 7 Golf GT TDI 184

I had the Golf on the Star Performance dyno some time later as it wasn't running right.  It made 200 bhp and 330 lbs-ft; slightly down on the Angel power claim and slightly up on the torque.

I think it cost me £289 at the time.

I take £200 for bench ecu work and £160 for obd

Thanks, code you code a new ACC sensor to my ECU on the bench ?

2016.

I've got a VAG/KKL interface, would it be possible for me to download my existing map for analysis just using this tool ? (not to write, just to read)  I suspect not  ?

No before you map a remapped car it it good practice to put it back to stock then re write it with the new modded file , I use regal tuning for my maps

Thanks I'll keep that in mind.

No problem, be careful tinkering with ecus , can end up with a major headache
