Corroded reverse light socket/holder

Featured Replies

My MK2 Fabia's reverse light holder seems corroded. When I reverse warning light on instrument cluster appears.

I tried to clean with wd40, sand paper and flat head screwdriver and it worked for a week but warning light appeared again.

I searched Google for replacement socket but couldn't find any. Do you guys/gals have any idea how to clean this corrosion or suggestion to replace the socket/holder. Or any link to find the socket/holder.

When you say socket holder do you mean the housing that holds the bulb?

Yes.

You can also phone VW breakers on +44 7521 607904. They will have some at reasonable prices

Thanks for the phone no, I'll give them a call.

I would also check against the price of a brand new one from a dealer as they might be similar prices. Not uncommon to find breakers want far too much for used parts and the replacement might be just as corroded as yours, if its of the same era!

Thank you so much. I am going to dealer next Tuesday and will ask them.
