Skoda Felicia driver's side window problem

Well I do have the sport line with factory fitted front windows. But maybe over the years they've been altered my switches directly drive the motors that's why when I changed to 1.5mm2 wire the thing became 2times faster

So it has no automatic functions?

It seems that someone chose to rewire whole thing when original mechanism failed. Do you have some pictures how your switches look?

@Papez : i havent see switches like yours, even the panel is different

This is original installation - I have been in 3 different Felicia's (2 Sportline, including mine, one Mystery) that had them from factory as base equipment + some others - installed in center console, they look like this:

In pre-facelift, they weren't installed in factory, but they could be bought as original accessory (even rear ones) - switches then looked like this, similar to yours.

These are pretty rare around here, I've never seen in person and lifters themselves (using push-pull wire in metal tube, similar to Favorit mechanism) are more valuable than more modern factory units.

Yes that's it, that's the way i bought it (the front windows were already installed) and when i said i want the mechanism to be transfered in the rear the electrician said Ok can do it.

In my recentrly window jack change the guy told me that there is no reason to keep the motor, does not fit in other's brand mechanism

The parts from brand to brand are not interchangeable.

@D.FYLAKTOS

Do you also have same console as in picture? Same colour as rest of the interior or slightly darker?

Yes grey colour as the sides of the seats, door handles etc.

The factory console was flat with 2 holes as cap holders or for coins.

On the console was a detached box with handle, you could pull it out and carry it with you.

You could ask for another console as extra parts, was this one

I bought the second because i knew that i will make a modification with extra gauges etc and that shape helped me more.

Hi, I also have electric windows which I took from L&K car (prefacelift). The lifters( bosch kit used in Mk2 Golf) are all with metal tubing.

Recently, as a facelift car, I put the new switches to match my central console using 2 boardrelays so the switches work with the bosch motors.

If anyone is interested I can upload some photos.

I also tried to fit siemens lifters (the original front ones for felicia facelift) in the rear but I just got only one motor and they are hard to find here in Bulgaria.

My second try will be these days fitting the bosch kit in the rear doors because it is not that easy to break as the plastic one.

Yes, I had that console with cupholders (and audi style switches) and later bought that box,but I wanted same console as yours - but I couldnt get the lighter one, as they were produced only in first half of 1998, then they were replaced with cupholder one, so pretty hard to find. Darker ones are pre-facelift, and in black they were used in Favorit

Yes that's true lighter grey are newer style. Darker are older style

Local seller had it as "extra" and told my that i could fit a set of extra speakers but i am not a fan of loud music.

If it was total black i doubt i was bought it.

The mounting was with 2 rails, not a good way for me so to avoid squeaks i added by myself 2 screews beneath.

I think it was meant for easy installation in Favorit, which didn't have speaker pockets in doors. I doubt that this installation would be capable of any "loud music" :D

I asked the electrician if i could keep the motor i case that was needed to another mechanism (rear for example) and said No, each company make her own kits and parts are not interchangeable, is it true?

I have found Favorit with speakers on the door panels.

Generally speaking i don't like loud noise on the cabin while driving, we have some silly drivers here which turn the volume to the max and the whole situation looks like the gypsies when the sell watermelons

The Traffic Police should give them a huge fine.

Original motors have built in electronic units with 5 wires going in, so they are not compatible electrically.

Others are just two wires, connecting motor directly to 12V - So as long as it can fit to mechanism, you can use it. It can work, I, for example, was able to fit motor for Renault to Favorit rear lifter, as they had similar mechanism. Unfortunately, I found out later, that Favorit lifter doesn't fit to Felicia...

As for speakers, yes, you could mount them there, after cutting a hole - but it's not exactly prepared mounting point as it is in Felicia. Also, Favorit originally had flat door panels like Estelle - these in pictures are from VW facelift (1993 I think?)

I don't mind to get volume up - as long as it's not distorted (not really possible with little paper speakers mounted in flexy plastic in Felicia) and only with all windows shut.

I agree I'm not a fan of (loud) music in general. It distracts you but most importantly since I am an engineer sound really means a lot to me. Being able to hear the car to verify its health hear any possible issues. Perfect my downshifts and all that can't be done with music blasting. As far as guys with speakers to the max we have a special word named kangoures roughly translating to ricers

It also distracts me from noises I don't like, yet I cannot find where they come from :D

I'm no audiophile, but I really hated how they rattled and clipped (and Sportline is supposed to have better coaxial units). Some people don't mind that..

Are from searching for Favorit panels.

😎

I meant second "VW" facelift of Favorit from 1993 (modernisation under VW lead - conversion to 4x100 wheel pattern, introduction of SPI engines etc). Before, they had these.
