DSG GEARBOX OIL QUANTITY/CAPACITY

Featured Replies

Hi,

Can someone help with gearbox oil quantity/capacity how much oil I need to pour into gearbox on

skoda octavia mk2 1.6 Tdi

7 Speed DSG

I believe it's DQ200 and gearbox code is NQE

@Cheif96

Welcome.

Are you doing it and doing it yourself because you think you should or because there is an issue / fault?

Was the car part of the Service Campaign '34F7' so in for a Oil change since 2014 on DQ200's 2009-2012 to get the Synthetic Oil changed to mineral oil & a software update?

Page 11 & 12 is an Oil Change on a DQ200,  Box and the MCU, there are 2 different oils.

Hi there,

Firstly thank you for your kind reply.

The reason why I'm having to do the Oil on gearbox is because of mechatronics unit playing up.

Had to drain the box.

Spoke to skoda Dealers and they are telling me that

IT WILL NEED 6 LITRES OF GEARBOX OIL !!!

Although without measuring the oil from gearbox I could tell that is less than 2 litres.

I think you need to have the MCU looked at and not just change the oil in the box.

But then once you have done at least you will see.

Was your car part of Service Campaign '34F7' and had an oil change already?

There should be a sticker in the spare tyre well if it was done, or the Dealership or Skoda can check.

MCU ! I believe that you are pointing towards mechatronics ?

If yes then that what is faulty with following codes

P17BF, HYDRAULIC PUMP : PLAY PROTECTION - Upper Limit Exceeded

P17BF, Lower Limit Exceeded

P189C, Function Restriction : Due To Insufficient Pressure Build-up .

Also it's not part of service campaign 34F7 .

I've checked there's no recall for anything.

I am not an expert on DSG but let me say this.

DQ200 has two parts oil wise, the main gearbox and the mechatronics unit. Seperate oils and completely different oils, the gearbox oil is just gearbox oil just over 2 litres probably,  the MCU oil is a hydraulic oil about a litre I think. Don't confuse the two.

Your fault indicates a likely failure of the pressure accumulator in the MCU, a common problem where it cracks and leaks

6 litres of oil is for the 6 speed Wet DSG not yours.

Thanks for information about mcu.

I don't understand why skoda Dealers said it is fitted with wet clutch and hence why I need 6 litres of oil  !!
