LED Headlight washers

Featured Replies

HI - I have carista so did a few minor tweaks on my Karoq - almost from day one from new. I believe the only thing I did was increase the activation time before the led washers cut in when performing a normal windscreen wash - this was to avoid the led washers cutting in by default every time I used the windscreen washers - having done this tweak I am now not sure if they have ever worked (before or after I tweaked it) .  However,  with all this winter weather I thought I would try to make sure they are working - I have reduced the activation time via carista before they cut in to virtually nothing and tried multiple quick pulses to see if they cut in after 10 windscreen washers  but nothing seems to happen. Probably serves me right if I have changed a setting I shouldn't have done, but carista changes are normally easily reversible ! - Also aware that eventually they will need to work to pass the mot - would appreciate anyone's thoughts

This may seem mildly obvious, but I am sure the washers only operate if the lights are already on. This is certainly how they worked on my previous  Octavia.

Without testing my Karoq, I am confident that mine work the same way.

As above, headlights need to be on. Normal  operation is headlight washers operate on first wash of windscreen and every 10th wash after.

I Always leave my lights on auto. From memory I have tried getting the led washers  to work with the engine off and ignition on and with the engine on but it still did not work in either scenario.

Without wishing to be pedantic, but the setting being on Auto, does not mean that the headlights are actually illuminated.

Try turning the switch to ‘On’, the last setting clockwise.

Thanks - you were correct, lights were on auto setting during daylight so not fully on - as soon as I tested them when it was dark, the led washers worked as expected - the reason I had never spotted this before was because somehow it looks like I had previously disabled them via Carista - they are now enabled again via Carista  and working again

If It Ain’t Broke, Don’t Fix It.
