Water in the car

Featured Replies

Can someone pleast list for me all the potential areas for water ingress?

My rear passenger footwell is absolutely soaked, only the footwell, the sides and any carpet around it is dry, it is purely only the footwell, the membrane was in OK condition until today where i needed to access the window motor so just ripped it out thr way but everything in that area was bone dry anyway.

Im planning to go through every single potential access point for water to try and elminate all ingress so a list would really help me and potentially anyone in future thst has the isssue.

Cheers!

if the door membrane is okay on the rear door -

the floor pan slopes to the rear so water will gather there naturally if parked on the level.

so, check the front door membrane and door seals.

check behind the wheel arch liner for  blocked scuttle drain. if its clogged, clear it out. water probably getting via the firewall grommet for the bonnet release cable
