Aircon issue

Featured Replies

Hi. My 2014 octavia has had issues with coolant recently but that’s 2months gone and all seems good.
the problem is the aircon isn’t heating up. The car is in a Skoda dealer today. They identified the aircon isn’t working/heating properly. But they can find what the fault is. They’ve gone to Skoda uk for help. Anyone any ideas, or had this fault before?

*cant

Have they checked to see if the silicone bag is still intact and not split. If split it will have blocked the heater matrix.

I think you need to differentiate between air con and heating😄. They are independent systems.

To see if heater matrix is blocked usually the driver's side is cold and the passenger side warmer as heater pipes come in from the passenger side.

Check the colour of the water in the coolant header tank, it should be pink. If it's all browny then suspect silica bag has split and then it's gone into the heater matrix.

Turns out it was the Coolant shut off valve that had seized. Needs replaced.  £495
