Skoda octavi 68 plate 1.6 diesel..

About 3 days ago car all interior lights stopped working and when I turn ignition  dashboard is dark on the display...car runs and starts perfectly well ..checked all fuses and are fine...help!!

 

You probably need to do a diagnosis with VCDS, OBD11 or something similar and post the results here.

I have ran an obd11 diagnostic no faults reported..

Could relays effect  interior lighting and dash

Hmmm, mine did something similar to this very recently. Does the dash and radio go dark when you turn the ignition on?

Yes works as normal would do then once key turned ignition goes dark...did you find a solution

 

 

Take a look at this thread. Mine required a new BCM and unfortunately it needs to be coded in with the dealer software connected to the server!

Hope this not the case 🙏..will have to bite bullet go garage...out of interest was your car running fine ...mine seems fine...

Mine run perfectly fine apart from the described problems with the lights / sat nav head unit. VCDS / OBD11 only showed the component protection fault.

Thanks for the reply all points towards this being the problem...I am going to have battery checked tommorow a long shot, because it starts perfectly..after that have to take it to be looked at...

Had battery checked all fine..but when ran test on alternator that was a below minimum reading which he suggested could be the reason for the interior lights not working

 

If the battery is still starting the engine there would be enough power in it to turn the interior lights on. I would have a look with OBD11 at the BCM to see if component protection is active.

Took car to auto electrician today 2 faults showing up regarding the bcm as you said...he said he needs to look at wiring diagram to proceed..after all the information you give can this only be done by the dealer to be recoded etc...

If it needs a new BCM then it can only be coded in when it is connected to the skoda server via ODIS, some independent specialist have ODIS along with the main dealers.

Needs new BCM Skoda dealer 740.00 😪
