clicking coming from under the bonnet. 1.9tdi, 14k on the clock,elegance. Came on without warning. Depressing the clutch pedal and brake pedal make no difference. Very noticeable with the bonnet down. Can anyone help me?

umm strange. Maybe a stray pet is stuck somewhere in there. Once found a kitten in my wheelarch. Still alive too. Well just about.

Turn the ignition on to the second position, don't actually start the engine. Listen carefully, if you can hear it then and it sounds like a ticking old clock, it's perfectly normal.

thanks for the petcare and clock suggestions. Have now located the noise. It's coming from the clutch slave cylinder area, and i've a nasty feeling it's a bearing. Anyone heard of this before?
