Possible to upgrade to an automatic climate control unit (climatronic)?

Hi all,

We just bought a 1.6 TDI 2018. This particular car has a manual A/C unit, but I've gotten really fond of the automatic ones (we had a climatronic system in our former VW.)

Is it possible to replace the unit we have right now with an automatic one? If so, what – besides the unit itself – would be needed? I suppose there are sensors etc. that needs to be purchased as well.

Yes, the usual sequence is:-

  1. Remove driver from car
  2. Replace car with one having Climatronic
  3. Install driver in new car.
