Airbag light

Featured Replies

Good evening all,

I would really appreciate any advice on the below please, I'm not mechanically minded please respond in layman's terms! Thank you in advanced!

The airbag light has recently come on "driver airbag igniter, Resistance too high" seems to be the result of a diagnostic check. A couple of garages have mentioned the clockspring, one garage quoting £700 for a repair. I did take out a Skoda all in one extended warranty scheme but Skoda want £140 to carry our their own checks before commenting on a potential warranty claim, is this likely something to be covered? The below can be read in the terms and conditions.

  • Airbags, batteries, bulbs, exhaust systems, water ingress (including damage to covered parts

caused by water), wiper blades, wheel balancing and alignment; wiring, wiring looms,

connections and fuses, wheels and tyres.

Is there any other failures I need to consider or is the clockspring a common fault?

many thanks,

Dan
