Infotainment Update

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I'm new to the forum and a bit confused with all information I read on infotainment update.

I'm currently having a 2018 MKIII RS. I had in the past a Skoda connect subscription that I was not using that much and stopped the payment, and didn't do any updates for a while. I'm experiencing disconnections issues between my phone (Android S22) and my car, that are usually solved by stopping the car contact, wait for a bit, and restart everything (pain in the xxx)

My system is a 5Q0035864C with software version 0468.

First question is : Do I have to subscribe again to Skoda connect to get the latest software version, or is it enough to take the latest maps versions on update portal, assuming that software update is included ? Or is there another way to get the latest possible version and get the most stable system possible.

I saw on some posts here that it's possible to enable a developer mode, and being a dev, this raises curiosity in me 😀

And last question. After the software update is done, will I be able to use Wireless android auto, or do I have anyway to get a third party adapter ?

Many thanks,

Skoda don't give out software updates and the latest maps will only update the maps. However, if you add your headunit details to this thread https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/477657-amundsen-mib2-firmware-update/ I'm sure someone will provide you with the latest 0480 update.

Yup, you can enable the GEM (Green Engineering Menu) with VCDS/ODBeleven etc.

There is no hardware support for wireless AA or CarPlay on this generation. A 3rd party adapter is the only option I'm afraid 😞
