2013 Suberb Hatchback: What's this wire?

Featured Replies

Hi.

I had an issue with a patial short 6 moths ago which killed my battery, which appeared to be something to do with the 13 pin trailer socket (the bracket had snapped off and the cable dragged along the road for a while before I noticed!).

I removed the socket, taped up the ends and pulled the wires back into the boot.

I'm going away soon and need to reinstall the socket.

There's this blue & yellow wire with a female spade socket floating around as part of the main loom, and I noticed there is also a pink wire with a male spade socket floating around from the old 13 pin socket. I taped it up when I removed the socket months ago, and was going to look up the wiring digram to see what it was (of which I can't find). However tempting it is just to plug the two togther assuming that's where it went, I wan't to make sure that they are supposed to be together!

Can anyone confirm what they are for?

Cheers.

A bit of progress - the pink wire is supposed to be "Reversing light(Backup)".

I just need confirmation that the Blue/Yellow wire is the wire for the reversing light.

I can help you out there; the Blue/Yellow wire does go +13.5V when reverse is selected, and drops back down to ~0V when not in reverse. You should be OK to connect the two together (y).
