I wondered if anyone has had this issue 

 

I have a fabia MK1 03 1.4l petrol and whilst driving every 40 or so miles the dash will bleep then the oil, power steering, handbrake and abs light will come on and the revs, speedo and temp gauge will drop and stop working. Wen I switch the engine on and off this resolves. would this suggest it could be a faulty instrument cluster? Or something else causing it

Probably a failed solder joint on one or more of the pins of the 8-way connector of the instrument cluster board. Reflow with some fresh solder to fix.
