Passenger door locking problem

Featured Replies

When locking car with fob, the car lights flash and the wing mirrors close. However the passenger side door does not lock and when opening it, the alarm goes off.

Have seen various owners with the same problem, but with no solutions other than take it in to the local dealership. This I intend to do, but in the mean time can I ‘lock’ this faulty passenger door?

I don’t think so, the hidden external slot for the key blade is only on the driver’s side door…

Owners manual page 298 shows how to manually lock passenger door.

Car booked in to source the problem, Had to agree up to 1 hour check, cost of up to £150. I asked if this meant stripping door to gain access, ‘ Oh no, we just plug it in!’

Will keep you informed after next Wednesday.

I had similar experience where a big name garage send me a £120 video of the check they did and "will we just go ahead and replace the...".Me: "Eh, no!". 🙂 My rear door (Superb Elegance) I just discovered yesterday doesn't lock with the fob. Who goes around checking? It might have been that way since `i bought it. However, maybe it coincided with the central lock button not illuminating and the passenger door not unlocking when I push the button. I really don't want to spend diagnosis money plus £200-300 on a lock repair.

Cost to replace door lock came to £335.

The health check also revealed other work required, two rear tyres.

Back on road now…..with a bit of peace of mind till next time.

Whilst in showroom enquired what a new like for like Kodiaq would cost.

Approx £44,000. My 2018 Kodiaq Edition is worth around £22000.

Still holding their value then… I traded my 2018 Edition (1.4TSI) in for something like £25k, and that was two years ago!
