Yeti lights fault

Featured Replies

My 2012 Yeti 2.0 TDi 170 Elegance has a lighting problem. As soon as you turn the ignition on, the headlights and tail lights come on. The light switch makes no difference, whatever position you put it in, (or even if you remove it). This means that the foglights cannot be used.

It looks like the Body Control Module on the inner bulkhead that the switch connects to has gone into safety mode.

Does anyone in South / South West / Mid Wales have or know an independent with VCDS who could test the module for me and code a second hand replacement to the car?

Thanks

Simon

Could be the switch, I had similar some time ago, took out the swich, opened it up and some of the tracks on the pcb had failed, put some fine wire jump pieces in to bypass the failed section and it worked. try to get a genuine vw switch most are compatible but the backlight might be red not black.

Cheapo chinese jobs seem to fail quickly, i think the tracks are not to the same standard as vw ones!

good lick

Thanks Frenchtone.

I have replaced the switch with a genuine part from the dealer, (£85), but it made no difference.

should have been white not black!!
