At last..............IT'S ARRIVED!!!!

Featured Replies

After the longest wait possible, I picked my car up yesterday.

All I can say is what a fantastic car it is!!!

It was worth every agonising second for it too :D

And a pic of the old Octy, 97,000 miles of total reliability, i'll miss the old barge :(

Looking very nice indeed.

A few more toys than mine and that colour really suits the estate

The colour was a difficult choice but it looks 10 times better in the flesh, I am so pleased with it :D

Oh , and it's pretty dusty as well, there is an arrid dusty building site near where I was working in Crawley

Looks

Looks sweet. Hope mine arrives soon, same sort of spec so nice to see what it looks like. Hpw long did you wait???

Great colour choice - enjoy it

Steve

Mine has reached Blighty:D ..also Graphite Grey few more days to go, these will be the last of the Graphite Greys as it has been chopped and replaced with Anthracite Grey.:(

Thanks for the compliments

The car was built at week 19 but as some of you might remember it was held back due to a technical issue so it's taken longer than normal to arrive, the origin of that issue is still a mystery, I am still trying to find out as well.

The sports suspension is a little choppy to start with but bear in mind I have been driving an elegance with relatively sqiushy suspension. The plus side: it corners like a ruddy go kart.

I'll do some better pics with a proper camera when it's cleaned at the weekend.

If there are any specific picture requests, do let me know.

The sunset privacy glass isn't as tinted as I imagined it would be but it does the job well, typical Skoda really.......just right.

It had 13 miles on the clock so it's still as tight as a drum but you can tell the engine has plenty of grunt.

The stereo is the biggest surprise to be honest, I am pretty stunned how damned good it is.

One old guy at a site I visit actually asked me if it was a BMW!

To sum up: The car is absolutely fantastic and I really can't fault it in any way at the moment apart from one thing: I miss that little plastic flap above the interior mirror that kept the sun out!

replaced with Anthracite Grey.
How different is Anthracite Grey? (Says someone who was about to order Graphite Grey)

as a request for a picture can you sort out one of the sunset glass.....i like the sound of this and am really looking to understand exactly how it differs from standard..

Thanks for that

Looks nice, I'll keep my eyes peeled for you

As requested, one side pic of the privacy glass.

It isn't actually that much of a tint but it stops you seeing what is in the boot and on the rear seats. I personally thought it was going to be darker than it is but is it fact spot on.

I personally don't know about Anthacite but I'll make an assumption and say it will be smack bang in between these two.

Can you guess where the pics came from??? :P

Wow, that looks great, even with a ladder on the roof

The ladders are pretty much an integral part of the car :D

Thanks for that..........that tint looks pretty smart.....very tempting

  • Author

No problem, The tints do a very good job of obstructing the view of whats on the back seats or in the boot

To actually see whats inside you need to put your face right up to the glass which is much more obvious than a casual passing glance of a would be thief.

as i want to shade my sons eyes i think the tint will work out fine.....gonna check with the dealer at the weekend .

Thanks again

No problem, if you require any other info or pics don't hesitate to ask.

FYI, the sunset privacy glass is a £200 option but may delay the car, it's also only available on the estate too.

I have those ladders :) Wish i'd gone for the Pegasus wheels, I had £1000 worth of allowance left but seen as it's my first company car I didn't want to push it by maxing out my budget.

Loving the dark colour

Could this be a new trend? Octavia II's with ladders on the roof? maybe not.....:P

The little ladders are amost always on the roof, the triple ladders come out for "special" occasions.

It took alot of pushing to get the colour and options I wanted including a lucrative job offer from a reputable air conditoning company (Sanyo). Don't laughh, they are really!. :D

Have you had the false floor out yet?

Have you had the false floor out yet?

Yep, it lasted about a week now it's in the cupboard under the stairs, needed the extra depth for the tools and stuff.

The little ladders fit inside if you put the top rung over the passenger headrest, doesn't half make a mess of the seats if you have been drilling stuff whilst on the ladders though

Same here, you get loads more room with the false bits out of the boot.

I keep the ladders on the roof, I used to keep them inside the car when I had a Primera estate but over time it knackered the fabric where it rested on the passenger seat. Oh and I wrecked the roof lining with them as well :thumbdwn: .
