9 Light Warning

Featured Replies

Skoda Octavia Mk2 2011 Diesel 1968cc

Recently I replaced front RH Side Light and now I am getting the following 9 faults.

Rear Left Brake, Front Right Dipped, Front Right Main, Numberplate, Front Right Fog, Left Front Side, Rear Stop, Right Rear Fog & Left Hand Reversing light indicating fault.

This fault cleared for a few days and has now returned.

I have checked bulbs, fuses, solenoids and earths.

When you say you have checked these things, how? And what were the findings?

are all bulbs working even with the warning?

what bulbs did you fit?

Freedom,

Thanking you for your response.

All the lights are working, but I am getting the warnings at startup and the yellow warning light is on all the time.

The prolem stated about a week ago and cleared after about 3 days, but is back now for nearly a week.

Hope this makes some sense.

Sorry, should have read about 2 weeks age.

Sounds to me that the canbus system for some reason doesn't like the bulb you replaced so replace the replacement & see if normality is resumed .
is the new bulb that you fitted an LED ?..

daftbugga,

Replacement was a HALFORDS 501 W5W and not LED.

I will fit another later and see what happens.

Thanking you

Please answer the question that was asked completely as it saves us trying to guess the problem and will help us narrow it down.

have you also checked for any fault codes?

It'll be the normal issue that causes this :)

Check the 30a fuse 16 in the engine bay fusebox. It tends to corrode causing overheating, bad connections and will disable all the lights you've mentioned.

Ideally, you need to open the fuse box, clean/tightening the fuse terminals and possibly replace the fuse👍

You’re spot on, just realised this is a mk2 and not mk3 and it’s been posted in the wrong section.

Hi all,

Went to go to Auto Spares  Stores to get Replacement Bulb.

No check lights proceedure and no yellow warning light. Also I have checked and no faults codes returned.

It there any test and or proceedure I can carry out if the fault returns and or instrumentation I can purchase to deal with this problem?

Yes - check the fuse I mentioned...

Hi all,

Checked Fuse 16 (30 Amp) and yes there was some evidence of fouling on one leg. I have replaced, so lets see what happens and hopefully - nothing?

Thanking you

If you have future issues, you'll need to take the fusebox apart to clean the contacts.

I'd suggest keeping your eye on it as it can melt the fusebox due to the heat :)

Will do that and thanking you.
