Hi, I recently bought an 05 vrS and it has the standard spec Symphony unit in it. However, I am appalled at the quality of the FM reception on it. Sometimes its fine and other times its as if it slightly off station, distorted etc.

I have done a search on this forum but is it a case that this unit is accepted as being not good, or is there something up with mine? I must state, I am not into upgrading or anything, I just want to be able to listen to the radio without it being distorted!

I commute through Glasgow on the M8 and listen to local stations if thats relevant.

I have no problems with the unit in those terms - but I have concerns re its over sensitivity to picking up both spurious traffic reports and traffic reports from a long way away. When I'm driving to work through Gloucester I don't want the traffic reports from Radio Shropshire - likewise when I do actually go to Shropshire I get traffic reports from Radio Sheffield! The dealer says there's nothing wrong - I should be glad reception's so good!

Pushing the TA button does nothing!

Whilst NOT receiving a TA. Switch on the radio, hit the AF button.

This selects the non-TP FM presets.

If you ever want TAs, hit the TP button.

NOte: The TP button isn't just a TA switch, it's got its own set of TA dedicated presets.

...which as I've said before, seems a strange way of doing it...
