Double click unlock on key fob to get engine to start?

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I bought my 1.4L Fabia Elegance on Saturday. I'm not sure if this is a standard thing but my Fabia has a thing where you have to press the unlock button twice on the key fob or the engine won't start.

While getting used to the clutch I accidentally stalled it today and had to take the key out, press unlock, put key back in to then start the engine.

Is this normal? And is there a way to turn it off? It seems like a weird safety feature.

Thanks in advance for your help

Not normal and not a safety feature.
