Trouble with vcds in superb 2

Featured Replies

Hello,

I recently tried my hand at vcds and have a problem. I bought a obd2 vag kkl ch340 cable and installed vcds lite 1.2. I managed to successfully test the connection to my car(superb mk2 2012) but when I try to edit settings in the car computer I get a "no responce from controller" error message. I used a windows xp laptop and the cable is a third party generic one. Does anyone know how do I solve this. Thanks in advance for any help :D.

From the Ross-Tech site:-

"VCDS-Lite is our low cost solution for older (pre-2006) VW-Audi Group cars that do not require a direct CAN diagnostic connection."

As your car is a 2012 year that could be the reason.

Yeah that is probably the case but vcds 23.11 won't even test the connection successfully. Do I need to buy a different cable or am I doing something else wrong?

VCDS 23.11 won't work with generic cables, only VCDS-Lite works with generic cables.

To work with VCDS you need a genuine VCDS cable (NOT a clone if you want support).

Ok, thank you I'll look for a genuine cable :DD

You need HEX+CAN or the latest HEX-V2 (or HEX-NET) for a MKII Superb.
