  1. See https://www.practicalcaravan.com/reviews/tow-car/47457-skoda-octavia-estate
  2. That's not correct, 2013 to early 2015 cars had a MIB1 system not a MIB2. The change to MIB2 happened around Q2 2015. MIB1 maps stopped being issued in 2020/21 (5 years after the last production date). MIB2 maps are still being issued (but later than usual) - I've just updated to the 2024 maps.
  3. Seems to me that what @martwerk needs to know is the maximum nose weight not the maximum towing weight since he wants to fit a towbar mounted bike rack not tow anything.
  4. Would make more sense for you to post in the correct Superb forum then 👍
  5. Firmware update can use any SD card, even on an Amundsen. You say you updated the maps OK, do you have to leave the SD card in the slot in the glovebox for navigation to work? If not them I'm puzzled as the part number you've posted appears to be for an Amundsen but if navigation works without the SD card in place then that suggests it's a Columbus???
  6. ... which, apart from purchase price, is one of the main factors why in March 2024 BEV sales made up a smaller percentage of overall car sales. I know it doesn't seem to affect some (many?) on here but for a significant number of the UK population there is a cost of living problem (call it a crisis if you must) and unless and until BEV prices to buy/lease AND RUN drop considerably the chance of the car makers meeting the market percentage targets is getting smaller all the time.
  7. Car Transporter driver heading south on A350 at Yarnbrook roundabout, made no attempt to give way to me coming from the right on the roundabout just kept going at well over the 40mph speed limit and when I gave him a long blast on the horn (I had to brake hard to avoid an accident which he would have caused) made no attempt to slow down and just gave a long blast on his horn too! A definite case of him Driving Without Due Care and Attention IMHO.
  8. That's a MIB2 Amundsen, good luck getting the dealer to supply the correct SD card - the dealer in Southampton didn't have a clue so I bought genuine Skoda one (that's essential as a generic SD card won't work) on eBay for a fraction of the official price.
  9. I'd suggest taking it to a more reputable tyre place than ATS, somewhere with a proper laser 4 wheel alignment tester and technicians properly trained how to use it. Too far for you but when I lived in Hampshire I would always go to Micheldever Tyres, but now they're part of Protyre I'm not so sure (had a bad experience with Protyre in Westbury).
  10. Sounds like your 12V battery is too low to start the car, so I suggest you connect a charger to the 12V battery.
  11. Let's not forget that Israel created the situation by bombing the Iranian Consulate in Syria. Yes Iran's response was not proportionate, but then neither has Israel's response in Gaza been proportionate. There really is no justification for any further escalation of the situation, both Israel and Iran have shown their military might now so let's get sensible and end the fighting in Gaza and not have any further military action between Israel and Iran. The lesson of all previous attempts by armies to beat groups with support of the people on the ground (call them terrorists or freedom fighters if you have to) is that it is doomed to failure - it took nearly 150 years to understand that in Afghanistan!
  12. Some shops run a parking fee refund scheme when you make a purchase, it's not beyond the realms of possibility that hospitals could run something similar where patients and visitors could collect an exit token from the department or ward for free parking? I'll always remember leaving Southampton General Hospital after watching my brother-in-law die and then having to struggle for cash to pay the parking fee - to add that struggle to the emotional stress of watching a relative die is unbelievably cruel.
  13. Reminds me of when I lived near Norwich in the 1980's/1990's - at the weekends you could often see a young man wearing Marigolds believing he was directing traffic at the first roundabout on the A11 coming into Norwich from the Newmarket direction. First question at work on Monday morning was "Did you see Marigold?".
  14. Regardless whether it's a taxi adult passengers are still required by law to wear a seat belt.
