  1. You should get a useful code with OBDeleven or VCDS.
  2. On some MQB platform cars you have to repeat the release& hold up to 5 times
  3. The coding will likely be VIN dependent so you'll probably be asked to share your VIN by PM by whoever has access to a coding calculator.
  4. I had a TV tuner is an Audi A4 back when but only ever used it when stationary in rush hour traffic on the M3, so I can't say I've missed not having a TV tuner in my last 5 cars.
  5. Aluminium is trivalent so requires much more electricity to separate from its ore, so its lower weight has to be offset against its higher energy requirement to separate.
  6. All of those systems require vehicle speed information, so I strongly suspect you have a problem with one (or more) ABS wheel sensors. Time for a scan with OBDeleven or VCDS or similar to determine which one.
  7. If you're fitting the same type and capacity of battery all you have to do is change one digit of the serial number.
  8. Could be a flaky wheel speed sensor or ring causing intermittent gaps as all those are reliant on vehicle speed.
  9. Are you aware that CarPlay needs to be enabled, and that the MIB2 and MIB2.5do not support wireless CarPlay? To get wireless CarPlay you have to use a USB adapter such as CPlay2Air (which is what I use).
  10. Are you sure? I thought the Octavia 3 only went as far as a MIB2.5 and MIB3 only came in with the Octavia 4?
  11. What infotainment system do you have, and does it have a NAV button? That card is for a MIB2 Amundsen and isn't suitable if you have a Columbus. Might be an idea to post the part number of your system.

Visited Platinum Skoda Bath yesterday after having an email "conversation" with a sales rep about a new 4x4 Karoq (i.e. Sportline 4x4 petrol) and arranging to visit for a look at their stock - only 2x4 so she suggested no test drive as "they drive differently". She seemed to have forgotten that we were visiting and did no more than unlock a 2x4 diesel and walk back to her desk. No sales patter, no description of the features/specs,... Very unimpressed, so much so that we decided our next new car would NOT be a Karoq. Platinum Bath are also Toyota dealers so we walked next door and spoke to a very helpful sales rep there (Chris) who found a just in 2025 RAV4 for us to test drive (unaccompanied), as a result of which we now have a 2026 Toyota RAV4 GR Sport on factory order. Platinum Toyota Bath - top marks, Platinum Skoda Bath - zero marks for a sales rep who really didn't seem to care.
  13. Limiter removal was a several thousand pound option and was signified by a different ECU software version - which mine did not have. Also several other owners reported the same very loose interpretation of 155mph.
  14. VAG have a history of not be too careful about the accuracy of the 155mph limiter, my previous VAG car wouldn't hit the limiter until 187mph (GPS indicated) - verified on an unrestricted autobahn!.
  15. The original advice from Skoda UK was 5 years which was totally different to the whole of the rest of the VAG "empire", so Skoda UK have no revised their advice to be in line with the rest. IIRC it's start to inspect at 120,000 miles and change when necessary.
