Injectors

Featured Replies

My 2010 VRs diesel is still running strong @ 145k miles. My question is is there an average service life for the injectors. Similarly I once changed out a set in a Ford diesel engine and the difference was quite noticeable

Have you priced up the injectors they are a fortune and they have to be coded to the car, so if you are getting good milage I wouldn't bother put some injector cleaner in the fuel.

Um they are expensive, are new / recon ones the same spec as original ones

Remanufactured injectors are also a fortune, one of my injectors went faulty and to get a remanufactured one was almost £400 how much new one's are I Dred to think esp from Skoda. My advice is if it ain't broke don't fix it.

I have now had all my injectors replaced.

By an independent VAG specialist they were £332 each plus the cost of a stretch bolt, injector seal kit and a seal ring.

By a Skoda garage the injectors alone were around £660 each.

Add VAT to both prices, and of course labour unless you can do the work yourself including the recoding.
