Hi Guys, I wish to remove the front grill because I wish to wrap its chrome surround in satin black wrap.

I have seen it done on Youtube  without grille removal but I would prefer taking the wrap around the edges which means detaching the outer chrome trim.

I did remove the top screws along by the slam panel but this upper panel does not want to come off.

Any tips from someone who has removed their Kodiaq main front grill will be much appreciated. Thanks.

This is a deceptively difficult thing to achieve, both because there are so many clips to detach, and because they are so easy to snap. I followed the 'credit card' method, where you use several plastic cards to keep each clip open as you work your way around detaching them all. This is what you need:

When i tried, I got it about 75% detached and then it snapped. I didn't care too much as I was replacing it with a new, black one that I had bought anyway. But just be aware that it is very tricky - it's really important to take your time.
