MP3 Head Unit

Featured Replies

Hullo

After much (confusing) discussion on #briskoda last night, I was left with a strong temptation to buy a blaupunkt MP3/CD head unit, called a "Los Angeles" - going for

Should be straightforward to fit.

Would only bother getting the expensive adapter if you listen to long and medium wave radio. If not, just get the Autoleads one as it's cheaper and you don't have to mess about with delivery...

As "1 of 3" (I think), MP72 is straight forward to fit. If you want to use the auto equalizer function (basically optimises system to environment it is used in) you have to connect the microphone form the outset.

Ebay price is good and as long as it's new and your happy with buying off EBay then go for it.

I guess if you get an MP72 you'll become "4 of 4".;)

4 of 4 ?

And what's that about autoleads? I haven't heard of them - I don't listen to MW/LW - but I know I had some kind of booster thingy fitted by the fitter who did my Kenwood so perhaps it will pick up these frequencies without me buying anything else??

Oh, of course, you've already got an aftermarket HU fitted. Doubt you'll need any kind of adapter then...

Autoleads do generic stuff, can be found in Halfords...

4 of 4 ?

A cheap reference to Star Trek: Voyager (7 of 9...yum)......4th person to get a MP72 out of a total of 4 (....MP72s).

p.s enjoying the remap?

Enjoying? You kidding? :D

Flooring it in fifth at 80mph is just sooooo nice - get to 100 in no time. Obviously on private track I have the honour to use. :drive1:

I think I may have found the cause of the lower fuel economy. :D

:o :o

Ooops. :D

I wanna know what you think of your new main beam lights. Do they make that much difference over standard? I was only able to run them in my fogs, and then they weren't as bright / noticeable against the 130w lights :D

Bright, BRIGHT? I know they're an extra 45W over standard, but they feel and look about 3 times as bright I would say! Perfect amount of light for going up narrow lanes at night, and if anything I'd also say the light is a bit whiter which helps to distinguish things at the side of the road, and hazards if they appear.

Put it this way - I got flashed by someone coming the other way last night because I was a little bit delayed in dipping the beam, and they were still a good 300 yards away coming in the opposite direction. :D

I'm gonna have to be more careful because one day that car could be the local constabulary.
