Heater only warm on footwell

Featured Replies

Hi there

New to this group and also octavia ownership

I have a mk2 2007 with only 30k on the clock. 1.9deisel

Based in UK sw

Before I bought the car I test drove and tested the heater and it was fine

Before the garage sold it to me they replaced the air con condenser unit

I've had the car a few weeks but only in last few days tried the heater

It's cold unless I turn it to thw footwell

It's a manual heater control. Nothing fancy just the manual dials for temp and directions selection

Footwell isn't that warm either tbh but better than all other options

Any thoughts much appreciated

Could this be related to thw Aircon condenser replacement?

I'm not sure how the heating and Aircon are related wet plumbing but wondered about an airlock ?

Many thanks in advance

Does the temp gauge read 90C ?

If an airlock, then you can check by seeing if both pipes to the heater matrix are hot. You can see the pipes going through the bulkhead around the centre of the car. The two pipes are the only ones close together.

Diesels take longer to warm up the coolant than petrol cars.
