Karoq 2023 juddering

Featured Replies

Hi All, just got a Skoda karoq 2023, in NORMAL driving mode it judders when pulling away in wet weather, it is not as bad in ECO driving mode, is this expected. Also should I get a service book with the car. I am a mechanic so know technical jargon.

Cheers Malky

The details are sparse. Are you saying it is a manual with clutch slip or wheel tramp when pulling away suddenly?  Service interval is found under infotainment menu  vehicle settings. If you are a mechanic with access to ramps etc, you can either obviously do this now and give yourself peace of mind even if the next service isn't due. Fresh oil every 10000 miles of 12 months is better than squeezing every last mile out of it I think. My dad's 1st service is supposedly not due until 19000 miles, which seems like false economy..were,I to keep it. .

Hi it is an auto, feels like wheel tramp, intermittent loss of grip. The car was just serviced so on dash screen says over 9700 miles to next. My last car was a 2005 astra which I had for 19 years which had a service book, before that was a1982 opel manta, so not use to new cars.

Cheers Malky

The FWD Karoq is easy to spin the wheels in damp cold conditions. The DSG box should give you smooth changes. I would leave the service for now if the car has low mileage and appears to be in good condition

Sounds like loss of grip, so tyres.  Surely a mechanic would be aware.

Best not only to say what gearbox as in Manual or DSG,  but what engine because there are different DSG,s.

?

Is it a 1.5 TSI ACT.

Try turning off the Traction Control and see if you just get wheel spin and no Nipping of the Brakes which can fell like 'Axle Tramp' did with cars with Axles.

No Service Handbooks. Online Service Records.

But a Skoda Approved Used Car should have a Service Record / Certificate.

?

How many miles on the car and any servicing done so far?

Fixed Regime.     Cam Belt and DSG schedule NA.

Hi Ootohere, I stopped doing mechanics on other peoples cars about 20 years ago, only on my own cars, Opel Manta, Astra & Corsa, so not use to modern day cars. The Skoda karoq is a 2023 1.5 auto DSG, the tyres are bridgestone and have plenty of tread, mileage is approx 9500. it has just been serviced. I Just bought the car 4 weeks ago from Skoda dealership.

I will check with the traction control off if I can fiure out how to do that.

I just wanted to know if others have the same juddering with their vehicle.

All the best Malky

The Brisdgestones as fitted OEM are just the same ECO bias tyres as any others Skoda / VW Group fit. Come the much colder roads or snow just poor.

?

What was done at that service, just the OIl & Filter and a look see?

Thanks for your help

They should have this for you.

Was it from a Sir Arnold Clark,s or a Parks of Hamilton?
