2 Qs: LED matrix headlights for driving abroad, and random internal roof light issue

I have owned my Superb SE L since Feb but I don't drive it that often, and I've misplaced the manual! I have 2 questions please:

  1. I'm driving from the UK to France in a few weeks and I'm looking for confirmation please on whether the LED Matrix headlights will adjustment automatically once I drive off the ferry or whether I need to select an option in the centre menu?

  1. I have an intermittent annoying issue with the internal roof lights (above the centre console) which occasionally remain lit when I set off driving. This is annoying after dark. I try to turn them off by touching the light on/off switch but that usually doesn't work. What does occassionally work is first pressing the emerging call button (which gives a message that it doesn't work) and then touching the light switch. But, that doesn't always work either. My other option is just to cover the lights with black tape. Why can't they have proper old-fashioned switches that depress?! Anyway, I wondered if anyone else had experienced this problem and, if so, whether they had found a solution that works.

I have tried to download an electronic version of the manual from the Skoda website after entering the VIN, but it fails every time. Maybe I need to buy a replacement manual from my local dealer...

Thanks so much.

There is no downloadable manual for Superb, only the web version or printed one delivered with car.

The web version works almost fine, seems the webpage design doesn't scale properly on widescreens but it is usable.

There is option in the Headlight menu to toggle left/right hand drive. I don't think this will switch on automatically when crossing the border but maybe someone else will clarify it.

As for the roof lights - seem they are faulty. I did not had any problems with them. Touch switches them on and off, holding finger while the light is on will dim the brightness. No issues so far.

A prompt does display on the infotainment screen when exiting the ferry/tunnel in France. I wasn't expecting it so don't recall what it stated and may have missed pressing a button perhaps. Anyway, I therefore had to switch the Speedo from MPH to KMH manually. So worth familiarising yourself with that setting too just in case.

I don't have matrix LED as I have poverty spec ;-)

No issues with the interior lights for me...yet.

Interior light is a known issue throughout the VAG Group. A colleague has had this on their Cupra. They replaced it under warranty.

Regarding the manual, you can install the MySkoda app on a smartphone, enter your details, VIN etc, and then get detailed instructions for your model from the app. If you don't have a smartphone, you're in the dark I'm afraid.

A useful function in the app, is that you can enter the price of fuel, and it will tell you the costs of your journeys each day.
