How rare is your Yeti?

Featured Replies

Mine was registered 31/12/17 but delivered Feb 2018 so I just missed out on the 2018 bucket!

it's a shame they don't break it down into models like Howmanyleft do.

Mine is a 2013 Elegance 1.2 Tsi in Malachite Green. It seems there were only 2.2% green ones that year. There is (or perhaps was) one more car with this spec on the road from that time due to my unintentional meddling.

I ordered my car from a local dealer but wanted the 16" wheels, which they couldn't spec. So, following advice from the wise men then on this forum, I wrote to Skoda UK's MD and asked for the smaller wheels. He confirmed this would not be a problem - job done. A few days later I got a confused telephone call from the dealer asking if that was right - I has two near identical cars coming? (And I'd only paid for one). It all got sorted and I hope the person that got "my" car on the standard 17" wheels has been as happy as I have been.

Looking in more detail at the link provided about is indicates around 8% of all Yetis were green. Whether it was a more popular colour choice in non-UK markets I don't know but in 12 years of ownership I've seen very few green Yetis - I would say no more than three on the road plus I know the Goodwood estate had a small number (because the estate staff where very helpful with their advice when I was trying to make my decision).

Don't forget that they also used to do a very dark green (like BRG) as well. I saw one earlier this year - I think it was on a 60 or 61 plate.

Not very, a runout of the Mk 1, a silver and black 4 x 4 Adventure model, 104k miles, some niggling probs but generally well pleased with it!

Mines a 64-reg 1.2 TSI DSG in dark blue with black heated leather. I’ve only ever seen mine that’s this colour blue with this specific silver bumper lip at the front. All the others have a different shaped bumper lip, a U-shaped lip.

There were definitely two different greens and it sounds like the one you saw was the colour that predated mine. I remember this because just after ordering mine I saw one one the road and really didn't like the colour so had to go back to the dealer and check that wasn't what I was going to get! 🙂 Fortunately I still like the Malacite Green, also used on Fabias although I've not seen on.

Yes, Yours is a Yeti or Yeti 'City' rather than a Yeti Outdoors. My other halfs is an Outdoor in the same colour, but we had the (bigger) silver bits on the front and bumpers sprayed body colour because her previous Yeti was a Black Edition. We couldn't find a City version or Monte Carlo in the spec we wanted, as the City silver bit is much more subtle.

I have the only Corrida Red Outdoor Yeti in Australia - Corrida Red was dropped in Australia when the Yeti was face lifted in 2014, but the sales manager at my dealer was able to get a red one as a special order - as the UK was still getting this color with the same bits.\ painted.
