iV system updates

Featured Replies

Hi Folks

I’ve just purchased a 21 plate 1.4 tsi iV. Does anyone know what code/number the up to date system update is? Mine is on 0270 as you can see from the picture.

Many thanks

Thanks, but that’s all a bit above me. Just trying to find out if it’s out of date and what it should be now.

It is out of date.

It should be 332 now.

It goes: 270,276,278,306,308,324,330,332.

If I were you I’d download 308 and 332 and update them in turn. Everything is in the post I linked to.

Ok, I’m going to give it a go. I’ve ordered a usb stick from Amazon which should turn up by Sunday.

I’ve tried to download the files to a laptop and it says to wait 5 hours as limits have been exceeded. Not a problem as I’ll do it in stages.

I’ve already got a ctec charger so I should be all set sometime on Sunday.

Do you know roughly how long the whole process should take?

Appreciate your time on this👍

That download message is odd - not sure if that’s from the mega.nz site or what.

Shouldn’t take long at all. 10mins for each update. Extract them to the root of the USB but just do one at a time just to avoid any issues.

So 308 on first. Put the usb stick in the car. Press and hold menu button until it asks you to update software and reboot to engineering mode.

It will reboot with a black screen and red text. It’s touchscreen (and some will be double tap) and should be intuitive.

When 308 has finished, it’ll reboot back to normal mode.

Then remove the stick, format it and copy on 332 and then follow the same process. I’d say you could be done within about half hour for everything.

Great thanks. I’m going to enlist one of my tech savvy kids to give me a hand. I’ll let you know the outcome.

@LeGonz

i haven't tested that case.

err is reported only in OBD scanners, nothing on the dashboard/multimedia screens

Success!! I managed to get it done with the assistance of my daughter. Thank you very much for all your help.

My next step is to work out why the car won’t allow me to become the primary user, but that’s for another day.

Thanks again 👍

Great stuff - glad you got it all done successfully.

I think making the primary user is a full reset and start again. Fingers crossed on that one!
