03 octavia estate - Rear Speaker Change

Featured Replies

Hi

Just a quick question on an octavia estate how do you get at the rear speakers to change them.

As in what needs to be removed.

----

Just started an install of a Pioneer P55BT and have the custom fit speakers to replace the factory ones.

Have fitted the head unit and the front speakers just have the back ones to go

Will post some pictures when I have completed if anyone is interested

Many thanks

Tim

Yup, always like to see pictures, but unfortunately I have no idea about the technical part of your query. Sorry.

Cant tell you what needs to come off exactly but when speakers broke in ours there was a lot of trim to remove.

I had most of the boot apart when trying to repair the damage done by the people who checked my car on import.

I can't remember exactly but I seem to recall that the top plastic bit with the speaker grille can lift upwards.

There's several screws to undo round the edges and at the bottom it clips to the furry side trim. You might have to loosen the trim at the back which contains the boot light.

I don't know if it gets in the way but it might be an idea to drop the seats and remove the plastic trim that goes up the side - two round plastic thingies hold that on which unscrew - bit of downward pressure and turn anticlockwise.

Sorry this is a bit vague but it might help you out a bit.

I am going to give it a go this weekend ...

When I had a quick look it did look like a fair bit of trim had to come off.

would be interested to know how you get on with this as this is something I will need to get around to eventually. What size/model are the speakers you have got? Are they comps to replace the tweeter in the door aswell or are you disconnecting those? Would be interested to know how they sound once done - any pics good too!.....
