Featured Replies

My Superb has covered 52k miles and I'm looking at getting the cam-belt changed very soon. I was at the dealers the other day and the price for the change was around

Personally i'd do the belt, tensioner and water pump.

Can you recommend anywhere in particular to get the kit? or just try a local motor factors?

Id get genuine parts, be it from Skoda or somewhere like GSF or Euro Car Parts.

You up for doing mine then soon buddy?!?!

I would but I can't actually change a cam belt. I have just spotted the weakness in my new business plan:O

My brother is doing it for a few quid instead. Hopefully should only set me back

Hey guys - did I understand that 170 plus parts was the best deal for a complete belt/idler/pump change ? Was that JKM in Portsmouth - I live just west of London so would be interested to hear of any other options. thanks

Labout time is about 3.5 hours for the Superb so it epends on the hourly labour rate as to final cost.

took my brother 3 hrs to complete. Un-bolted the entire front end and then it was very easy. He charged me £40 so saved £270 on the dealers price

Very good indeed.

Of course 3.5 hours is the book time for it, doesnt take me that but even your bro would have made half hours bonus, excellent.
