Does the Superb have rear curtian airbags. If you look at the picture from Skoda it does look that way?

it's an option. dunno about this year's, but on my 03 plater it was a (rare-ish) option.

Mines definately got curtain airbags, I never specc'd them.

curtains deffo option on 03 platers and earlier...
