My Superb has the usual VAG crap CD changer. Every one I've had has packed in...thats four now. Anyway, when I changed the CD earlier the message SURFACE appeared and then it moved on to the next CD and played it.

Well it done it again earlier and then came up with the message MECHANIC.

I got out and cleaned all the CD's in the changer and it did play them again..but I only tried one or two.

Is this a common problem or have I got serious problems.

I did read somewhere here about copied/burnt CD's affecting playback?

Mine plays up on and off and its always with copied cd not originals.

I found if i give them a good wipe with a lens cleaner and a good blow in the changer with the magazine removed its good to go.

I havent changed the cds in a while and ive not had a problem sincemy last change of cds.
