Uprated stoppers

Featured Replies

Had my car into JBS this weekend for the brakes sorting out. They were wearing down and it was noticed on the 30k service.

Anyway, I went for the standard 312mm Discs but decided, instead of standard pads, I'd go a little bit more and get some better stoppers.

Went for the Mintex Xtreme Pads in the end and they are really good. They are still bedding in at the moment but I can feel the difference just feathering the brakes. Currently have the new brake squeekyness as well. :o

I dont know if Mintex are a fairly new kid on the block, as I have never heard of them before. If anyone is due to have they're brakes sorted, I recommend these. Only a few quid more than standard pads, but seem to do a modded Superb some good...

Mintex are a farily well known brand. Their test track is in Sherburn-in-Elmlet, next to where im learning to fly. They have been develpoing brakes for years, and doing very well at it. Have you got the new exhaust yet that you were on about at the last meet?

Nah. Its just trying to find time to get off work. Pipewerx will need the car for a whole day, so it gonna be a weekday. Things are just so hectic its annoying and now starting to p!ss me off. On a plus point, I'll should be ordering the Eibach's this week.

When I read this thread title I thought you were Greek...Greeks are the only people I know who call brakes 'stoppers'.

Mintex have been around for years and have been sponsoring 'Rallying' for many years in the smaller one make series, etc.

What do you intend to gain with the change in the exhaust? Noise? Performance? Looks?

Hopefully a bit of Performance but more of the look. I really like the Superb 100's exhaust exit look with the bumper cut out. So I'm going for a bit more after market look of that with the twin pipe exit.

So you going to keep your current OEM bumper and have the twin exit hanging underneath? Or are you going to get a section cut out of your bumper? Stainless Steel I assume?

Gonna get it cut out. Full stainless with 200cel sports cat.

I've been using Mintex shoes and pads for at least the last 20 years. I've always regarded them as being superior for stopping efficiency.

Look forward to seeing the results buddy!!
