Website info... anyone know?

Featured Replies

Evening folks,

Due to a new baby, I'm in on New Year's Eve. Heartbeat is on and to stop myself from going crackers, I am trying to find a website I once saw with loads of performance cars and their performance stats on. It included in gear acceleration, bhp per ton etc and I am sure it had the Mk1 Octavia vRS on it.

If anyone knows of such a site, could you let me know please as it would help me solve a disagreement/point to prove with a friend. He reckons that I would keep up in my standard vRS with his 03 Civic Type R on a blast across the moors round Whitby. Until we get a free Saturday morning and a reasonably dry day, I will try to use facts and figures to prove that I wouldn't have a chance as he will out accelerate and out corner me most of the time.

Cheers and Happy New Year.

Addendum

Sorry, wrong site. Just gives quickie reviews without in-gear etc times.

Still a good read though.

Can't help with the website but having driven a type-r and octy vrs on the same day, and owning a vrs I think your mate is right - I know on "paper" the honda has the edge but on the road I don't think there's anything in it.

Top speed is the same I think and there was only a few fractions of a second on the 0-60.

I'd never shy away from having a go with one anyway if the opportunity came up  - I like having turbo boost from 2500rpm and not having to rev the knackers off it to 6k+ before anything much happens

Thanks for that, as you said not what I was after but still interesting.

......I think your mate is right ...

We shall see in due course I guess. Mind you, we will have to be quick as he is trading it in for a new Mk2 Octavia 4x4 Diesel in Feb. This is down to me constantly going on about how great Skodas are. The power of persuasion eh?

One more recruit to the Skoda badge.:D
