Tyre Pressures TDI 2.5 V6

Featured Replies

Hi All

I have read a number of threads about tyre pressures. I have read on the inner Diesel Cap that my 17" Alloys Michelin Pilot primus should be 36 Fr and 33 Rear. They were at about 27 all round and actually felt and handled ok to me. Local garage said all round 28.

Anyway I ahve now incresed to 36/33 and the ride seems very hard now?

Any views???

Thanks

John

Are there two set of figures for loaded or unloaded?

Hi Mike

These figures are for not loaded. If the car is loaded it goes up another 2 PSI front and rear.

I asked this question a while back and it got quite confusing. After I bought mine I found the garage had put 30 all round. I've now gone by the fuel cap and put the bar pressure stated for unloaded (cant remember what now). Like you I felt the ride was fine at a lower pressure, but feel the car is much better at the stated ones. Bear in mind I live on the Isle Of Wight where the roads are crap and riddled with potholes.

Thanks you all for replies.

It definitely says the pressures should be 36 and 33 - so will stick with them and see?

Hi All

Just had a reply from Skoda UK on the pressures - they say and I quote:

Partial Load Front 38 and Rear 35

Full Load Front 42 and Rear 49

It does seem high to me?
