First service not due until 25000 miles. any thoughts?

Yes Mark 1 - advised by garage that no service neccesary until 25000 miles but I feel that this is too long. My worry is that I don't do many miles, only 9200 in the first year but garage advise to wait until service light appears. I don't want to throw money away but as the same time I want to do what is best for the car.

Service it then when you feel comfortable with it.

personally i will change my oil and filter every 6K (6 months) or so. I don't much care what the manufacturers say, the oil will be in an unbelievable state by 20K.. I do use my car the way it was intended though
