Paint and Parking

Featured Replies

I am thinking about having my plastic trim colour coded.

Does anybody know if you can paint the parking sensors without affecting or damaging them?

When we ordered my wife's fabia I got the dealer to fit some parking sensors before we took delivery.

They fitted them into the painted part and painted them the same colour as the bumper ( sahara beige ). Doesn't seem to have affected how they work

But maybe ask the dealor first incase the ones my wife has are designed to be oversprayed.

These sensors seem to be a bit of a problem for not working - I have had three fitted in the last month and I haven't painted them. On the other hand I had sensors (colour coded) fitted to two previous cars and never once had an issue with them. The general view of the Forum is that the VAG sensors could be better?

At us in a technical center them paint, only a condition of working capacity at the certain thickness of a paint ! 10 $ it is necessary to paint one gauge! And any problems with them was not!

Don't see why not - would have to be a fairly thin application of paint though, I would of thought. I know that they're painted on BMWs and the like, so it should be possible.
