I have just read a review of the new Alpine iPod headunits and it has a new interface cable design that improves transfer rates, thus improving navigation.

From what I gather existing owners can purchase the improved cable and gain the benefits.

Whilst removing the headunit may be a little bit of a pain, it may be worth it for an improvement in processing???

Does this apply for people with a KCA-420i interface? I thought all they did was move the iPod gubbins from the KCA-420 and put them inside the headunit chassis?
