What A Pain !!!

Featured Replies

Has anyone else had problem fitting a kenwood mask head unit. Couldn't get the bugger in (running two sets of rca cables from back). In the end i've had to chop the original plastic bracket for the stereo at the back off so I could get clearance for the wires. Just waiting deilvery of a Kenwood 12" free air sub. Never tried free air before but with the boot of the Tavia I'm goin to try one in the recess where the original cd changer was. My mates audi has the bosse set up and his has a sub in the same place. One little gripe why don't Skoda offer the Bosse system and save me a lot of hard work !!

You need to remove the glovebox as this gives you free access to the rear of the stereo so you can move the cables out of the way.

Could not get my stereo in until i removed the glovebox having 2 rca outs changer lead and 1 rca in.

took glove box out didn't work. The rca cables hit the support at the back as they wouldn't bend enough. I've subsequently found another post with the same problem

I had to do the same when I installed the sub and amp in the boot. Only way I could get the RCA cables up. Although the cables were tight when the Kenwood HU was in, there were no real problems to worry about... I wonder if these mask units are just that inch longer that would cause trouble?
