Anyone changed the speakers?

Featured Replies

Thinking about upgrading the speakers in the Superb.

Anyone done it? What did you use? How easy was it?

I can tell you that the back door speaker grills are

When my father had an Arosa he put his throught a speaker grille and he bought a new one, all we had to do was take the small door card off and melt the plastic lugs with a soldering iron and take the old one off, the new one fitted in no time (reversal of removing) it was about £17 for the grille if i remember correctly. Just a thought if they are in fact the same size.

can't you just leave the speaker grills and change the speakers inside?

I thot of replacing the speakers with the Alpine Type E speakers.

Indeed you are right.

You can just remove the door card and then change the speaker that it mounted to the door, simple.....

I don't think you need to change them, they are very good. I've swaped the OEM Stereo for an Alpine and i've got an Alpine 12" sub boxed in the boot runing off an Alpine V12 Amp, the stereo's bass turn down almost all the way. They go LOUD!! Fanstastic tops and midrange and the sub makes up for the lack of bass from the 8 OEM speakers, best part of all is its only about £350 worth of equipment.

Rainbow are my favorite speakers... go for it.

Might be worth giving Atsu a PM. The install in his Superb is stunning.

I would love to see this install.....

Pics were up ages ago but are now no longer hosted.

I lost the pics in my recent HDD failure sadly.
