Two queries - Furby vRS

Featured Replies

1. Has anyone ever had a new Skoda delivered only to find an option which they'd ordered and paid for, not fitted? My dealer's phoned me to tell me my Furby vRS has arrived but though the optional 3rd rear headrest is fitted, the three point centre rear seatbelt isn't. Can I/shoud I ask for a retro-fit or reject the car (and face another 4 month's wait!)?

2. If you've de-badged your Skoda, how did you get the badge off and what did you use to remove the glue?

The three point centre belt does not come with the centre headrest, it's in the brochure, strange I know.

Can't really see the point of it really.

re: point 2 - Use hi-strength fishing line to saw through the gunky adhesive strip, then clean off residue off paintwork with some elbow grease and white spirit is OK too. Mine all came off my old car with no paint problems at all. (looks goooood too. :D)

On the missing seat belt I would visit the dealer and ask them face to face if they can retrofit the 3pt belt, not as easy for them to say no face to face ;) I would have thought all the mounting points are in place, jusst time consuming for them.

I removed my rear vRS badge, by soaking the area between the badge and the car with lighter fuel, slowly the badge let go of the car and I cleaned up the residue with a bit more residue. Others may know of better ways to remove them. Also I have not tried the front badge, it appears to be plastic welded on and the risk of damaging the grill is too great for me :( The back badge is stuff on with HD double sided foam, you know the tape stuff.

Waxed dental floss works well if you are not a fisherman. Sticky stuff remover or isopropanol alcohol will also get the glue residue off.

The last badge i saw off, there was holes in the boot lid for alignment!! Has anyone found holes in theirs?
